Tesla Themes is a new(ish) premium WordPress themes company that launched back in April 2013. They currently have 8 unique and attractive premium themes that are available for purchase individually or through a club membership that gives you their entire collection of themes for a very low yearly fee.
In their announcement post they share what Tesla Themes is all about: “a selected club of Premium WordPress Themes coupled with clean, modern, responsive design and a complete set of advanced features. We provide Multipurpose WordPress Themes with handcrafted designs that are great for all bloggers, developers, freelancers, agencies or corporate websites. Our themes come with extended documentation and set-up guides to help you easily get started and we are always glad to provide you full support and free updates for our premium themes.”
Like most other premium theme shops the themes are built on a framework for easier development and updating. All their themes are powered by the Tesla Framework – “a powerful administration tool that comprises all our great features and allows you to easily customize the look and functionality of your theme, without advanced knowledge of programming”.
Like all good WordPress shops Tesla themes are licensed with the GNU general public license so they are in line with WordPress and you have the freedom to use on as many websites as you like.
Tesla themes are currently available for purchase individually for a very reasonable $25 each, while they also have a Themes Club option that gives you access to all themes for only $35 per year with a Standard membership or $55 per year for a Developer membership (includes PSD files). They expect to release at least one new premium theme per month. Those prices are very cheap so if you like the themes buy now because those prices won’t last.
In an interview on WPTavern the founder of Tesla Themes revealed however these are only introductory prices and they will be going up in the next few months. That’s actually good to hear because the current pricing structure seems to be unsustainable. Having pricing which is attractive for both consumer and developer to ensure a company is sustainable and around for the long term should be important to both parties.
TeslaThemes is part of Red Sky, an IT company from Poland with quite a number of different web projects. Reportedly income is not the main priority for TeslaThemes at this time while they create unique and useful themes and build a community. That sounds positive so hopefully they will be around for the long term building a nice theme club that creates unique, quality premium WordPress themes.
