I want a theme with file hosting script inside.
Include a small tutorial on how to put the advertisment in the sponsor column, a lot of people dummy in this, include me. 🙂
A Premium Theme opinion is based on someones favor so to generally say do this and that better would be not very clever.
So for me personally it’s an outstanding design and unique features that make a Theme “Premium”.
What I miss in many themes currently is:
– Code Readability and Commenting
– Easy Customization
– Manage Multiple Languages from DB without Plugin ( agree to Irfan )
– Easy Ads Management from the Dashboard
But if I’d be a Theme Designer and try to gather useful Feedback it’s better to work directly with your customers to find an overall pleasing experience for everyone. Like regularly posting Updates on a Design and let people give some actual feedback you try to consider etc. If you want to build a community around a Project, Product work with that Community.
Just my two cents.

What I find annoying with most of the WordPress themes I come across is that they’re not widgetized.

I would like to have slick themes like the revolution bunch of themes by Brian Gardner that look awesome, give a brand leverage, have more space for variety of content to be put on such as video content, podcasts, alerts, Feed Buttons, Invite readers to subscribe by email/feed, banners, and other stuff.
Always remember that themes must be made from a marketing perspective.
I am specially looking at tech themes like the “revolution tech theme” or even the revolution news/magazine/sports theme that sport slick designs and lots of cool features.
I agree with all the points Bjoern has covered herein.
Ultimately, a theme should be easy-to-use for the visitor and easy-to-edit for the backend guys. I don’t know much programming so make it as easy to edit as possible.
Have you seen the SEOBOOK theme? I love it.. its simply superb, a slick theme with a brand value.

The most important feature I look in a premium wordpress theme is firstly its appearance (Web2/CSS/Accordians etc!)
Secondly its usability in a normal running site…. (in terms of sidebars or widgets or anything else).
Thirdly its ability to take over a current theme which is being used in a site….
Fourth would be its room for money earning opportunities,
Fifth its ability to stand out from another premium wordpress theme (could be by design, usability, or money making opportunities.
Sixth its ability to blend in as if its not wordpress but Joomla or Drupal if needed,
Seventh, its coding (ofcourse!!)
Eighth, its variations of color/styles/features.
Ninth, its access to the market (free or paid, cause it matters!!)
Tenth, its compatibility with different version of wordpress…. 😀
Ofcourse some of these feautures overlaps the other when designing the template/theme but you know what they say… with great power comes good designs… (yeah I know thats definately not what they say! lol)….

what I really want to see from premium WP is a theme that suitable for all needs, for all kind of website, but still hold it’s elegance and ease of acces. Also a strong integration with attractives widgets, and perhaps premium WP can take advantage using Web 3.0 concept.
i would like to see some quallity and stylish themes, something witch might stand agaisnt the joomla templates heh..

I am look for a few things in a WP theme. First of all, a lot of the sites I build need the option of a distinct home page that can be the default page. WordPress makes for a great CMS on sites that are not necessarily a blog.
Also, being able to create rss lists that do not point to pages, but can point to downloadable media files, like mp3s or zip files.

easily to modify and configure sidebar is a major need in premium themes I look for.
– provide various color to choose (in each css files) with different image too
– One time custom header logo for free (optional) –> if customer want it, you provide it with free
– theme back warranty (beside moneyback warranty) –> if buyer after download not feel comfort with the theme he/she buy, he/she can change it with other premium theme (it should be change with same price or more)
– Discounts for buy 2 or 3 other premium themes (single or developer premium themes)

And about suggestions, well the thing is that there should be themes made for all types of categories by NOT changing the color and picture above(like i saw in previews) but also the format needs to be little bit change according to a particular niche or category.Looking forward to hear from you.

Well, i just would like to suggest PremiumWP to provide more theme selection. Themes are growing in days. So maybe PremiumWP could handle that by providing more choices.
