HappyThemes WordPress Theme Shop Review

HappyThemes is a new WordPress theme shop that launched earlier this month (February 2017).

Happy Themes is run by a passionate and innovative team of three with extensive experience in WordPress theme and plugin development. They’ve been designing and developing websites since 2004 and making WordPress themes and plugins since 2008.

The HappyThemes team has previously worked with many ThemeForest authors designing and developing WordPress themes and plugins. They decided to take all that experience and knowledge to run their own theme shop and launched HappyThemes.

So what sort of WordPress themes can we expect to see from HappyThemes? They explain: “We don’t make WordPress themes that come with thousands of fonts and hundreds of layout options. We make WordPress themes that are clean, fast loading, flexible and extremely easy-to-use which allow you to start your blogs, websites and online business quickly (and stably)”.

The Themes

HappyThemes currently have two WordPress themes available – BlogNow and VideoNow.

BlogNow

BlogNow is a free blog magazine WordPress theme with a clean, white design. It features a mobile responsive design, sticky header navigation, theme customizer / control panel, numerous custom widgets, localization ready and more.

VideoNow

VideoNow is a video WordPress theme with a fully customizable homepage, sticky header navigation, theme customizer options, custom widgets, translation ready and more.

Price

HappyThemes have a simple and attractive pricing structure. They offer a Free Membership option for access to their free themes, and a Lifetime Membership for a one-time payment of only $49. The Lifetime Membership gives you complete access to all current and future themes, unlimited theme updates and unlimited support!

Lifetime Membership for a one-time payment of only $49 is incredible value. I’m not sure how long the price will remain that low though. Surely it’s not sustainable to sell a lifetime membership for such a low price?

They’re a brand new shop with only a couple of themes so the low price may be a good marketing tactic to gain some initial traction in the increasingly competitive themes business.

If you think HappyThemes has potential and will be around for the long term then buying a Lifetime Membership now for only $49 is a no brainer. It would be a great investment that could give you a lot of nice themes for a very low cost.

HappyThemes Licensing

All HappyThemes WordPress themes and plugins are licensed under the GNU general public license. You are allowed to remove the copyright information in the footer and make any modifications you want to the themes.

Unfortunately since our initial, early review of HappyThemes they have resorted to ‘copying’ the designs of other theme developers. We don’t condone this practice and therefore no longer recommend HappyThemes.
